If there was one single life experience that has shaped the young James Grehan into the unbelievably talented phenomenon that he is today, it would be the wise decision his father made to get the then ten year old boy a guitar, instead of the motorbike he wanted, for his birthday.
That was the decision that changes James’s life. The now twenty-two year old is described by those close to him as one who quite simply “has” to play music. With the ingenuity to take all the experiences life has thrown at him, then turn them into beautiful lyrical poetry, all which takes you on an unforgettable peaceful musical journey. It is clear that there is unlimited potential, which he is certainly capable of exuding over and over again. With sounds similar to the fast guitar folk melodies of Jeff Martin from The Tea Party and meaningful, inspirational lyrics familiar to Ben Harper fans it’s no surprise that this singer/songwriter is by far about to become one of the nations greatest solo artists. Having just released his first recorded single, Rather Be a Butterfly, containing 11 unbelievably flowing tracks, which has received exceptionally positive and encouraging reviews from wide-scale individuals.
James’ exploration of depth in reality shows, as his ability to touch and impact through his combination of lyrics, acoustics (& sometimes harmonica) present in all of his music is a sensational original talent.
To see him for yourself head to Billies Beach House on a Wednesday night.
